"I adopted my two kittens from Diane 4 months ago and it has been one of my best decisions I’ve made. Diane was wonderful throughout the whole procedure helping out whatever way she possible. I met Lani when I took my boys out to get neutered and she’s just as lovely both women are so very caring I can’t say enough about them. As for my boys their growing so fast, their spoiled rotten and I couldn’t ask for two more loving boys.

"This rescue is just amazing. They have been wonderful for me and helped me with a stray cat that I had found. He ended up being 15 years old and severely emancipated. He weighed only 3 lbs. They sheltered him, for me, while I was out of town because I had found him 2 days before I was leaving. I was sure that he was never going to survive. They did blood work. Found out everything that I needed to know about him and were able to give me a plan of action to help get him back on his feet. It's now been 2 months. He has doubled his weight and every day he acts more like a cat again rather than just looking like a cat figurine. I would highly recommend this shelter for anyone that wants to get a cat. She is amazing. She gives out great tips. All the cats are very, very friendly and sociable and I love going there just to pet them." ~ K.C.

"We adopted our buddy Maui (now Jughead) out of the bookman through Lani. She made the process super easy and clearly cared a lot about the cats making sure they go to the best homes. It's been two weeks since we brought our guy home and he's fit right in, it feels like he's always been here. He makes us laugh daily, loves cuddles, and is a fabulous spider catcher :)

"I don’t even know where to begin with how amazing this rescue is. I came to the rescue in search of needing a place to send my cats kittens to. We had a bunch of unexpected pregnancies that rocked us hard and we didn’t know what to do. I knew nothing about this rescue and the minute I spoke with Lani, I felt at ease. I knew the kittens would be properly cared for, spayed/neutered, the adopters and fosters be vetted, and the kittens would be spoiled rotten!!

Lani is honestly a saving grace to me as I didn’t know what to do with the kittens I had. Every step of the way she was there to help me, answer any bizarre question I had, congratulate me on becoming a grandma to the kittens, and she even gave a bunch of supplies we needed to ensure the kittens would be happy and healthy with us before giving them to her.

There is no words for how grateful I am to Lani for all she’s done for me, my small family, and my fur babies. You can really tell how much she adores her job, loves these beautiful animals, and has the knowledge and education to provide proper care.

I strongly highly immensely recommend this rescue to everyone. This woman is just an amazing human being and has so much love and compassion for what she does.

"Lani is the best! I filled out an application and she got back to me really quickly. I was inquiring about a male cat I saw on her website, she asked me why I chose him, after many emails and texts, we decided a meeting would be best.
My husband wanted a cat because "the dog is yours" and he wanted a pet to cuddle with....so off to Lani's rescue.
She was very inviting, her home was well kept and even though she had many cats and kittens, you couldn't smell them at all!
We sat down and were immediately bombarded with all the adorable little furballs. One little girl found her way into my husband's arms and promptly fell asleep.
Lani gave us tour and we saw the male cat we originally applied for. We knew he wasn't a good fit, so we headed downstairs where the little black fluffy girl was waiting for my husband.
We fell in love with Sky (now Salem) and arranged to take her home. We had to wait for her to be spayed and lucky us were able to pick her up Christmas Eve.
She is a spoiled princess and her favorite thing is still sleeping in my hubby's arms. She loves her big sister kitty and doesn't take any crap from the loud yappy dog.
We love her so much, she purrs so loud and gives us love bites....even while we sleep!!

We keep in touch and send her updates as Salem grows. Lani loves the updates and she is definitely meant to rescue kitties, she does a fantastic job and cares so much for each and every one that comes into her rescue.

"We got the surprise notification of Marble being available to see/adopt (after submitting an application prior) and we were excited to drive out after work (that same evening) to see Diane at her home. Wow we are so impressed with the kitty love! Marble is everything we ever sought for a healthy, bright eyed purring ball of fluff that adores all interaction. No new kitty can ever replace a sick kitty that passed but the simple joy of kitty’s antics help us smile more every day. "We adopted a kitten from Forever Homes recently and had a wonderful experience. Lani was quick to review our application and set up an appointment, and she responded to my emails promptly (even those she sent in response to my queries after we had already adopted!). She welcomed my children and I into her home to visit the cats, and gave us plenty of time and space to meet and relate to the different cats we were interested in, providing information on each of them and patiently answering all our questions. The cats are well cared for and loved. When we had chosen the kitten we wanted to adopt, she gave us the proper paperwork, and pet identification card and tag for his collar. Neutering had been done, as well as initial vaccinations. We were sent home with our kitten's favourite toy and blanket. Lani was extremely friendly and accommodating. She truly nurtures the cats in her care, and intends them to go to good homes, but she also takes care of her potential adoptees! Thank you Lani!" ~ Kristin

"My fiance and I adopted our two cats from Forever Homes Cat Rescue over a year ago and we are simply besotted with them! The application process was smooth (we applied on a weekend and received a follow up reply the same day!) and we made arrangements to meet and pick them up the following weekend. "It has been two weeks since we adopted our little kitten, Nala. As I write this she is on my shoulders batting at my pony tail!. Thank you so much Lani for choosing my daughter and I for this little angel. We are beyond delighted. Lani has a wonderful setup in her home for her rescues. The cats are brought up with dogs which we were looking for. Nala and my cavalier spaniel Chester are the best of friends. Chester grooms her and she cuddles up to him. Its fun watching them play. "I adopted two kittens from Forever Homes Cat Rescue a few days ago, and I couldn’t be happier with my decision. I put in an application, and Lani was able to look at my application and review it on the same day. That was quite impressive. Lani and I discussed all the details of what sorts of kittens would be the best fits for my home, and she gave me so much wonderful advice. When I visited the rescue to look at the cats and make a decision on which ones I wanted, Lani allowed me to stay for as long as I wanted and play with the cats. While I was there, I was able to get a good sense of which ones would like me and which ones would be suitable for my home. Once I had picked the kittens that were my favourites, Lani encouraged me to visit as often as I was able, talked me through any worries/concerns/questions that I had, and continued to provide invaluable advice.

I picked the kittens up a few days ago, and she helped me carry them to my car. The kittens and I have been at home together now for a few days, and life has been so dreamy since their arrival. They’re sitting on me and purring as I type this, actually. It is clear to me, since living with the kittens for the past few days, that they were well socialized and cared for at the rescue. I am so grateful for Lani, her help, and her support throughout this entire process.

"My fiancé and I adopted our sweet boy from Forever Homes Cat Rescue about 5 months ago. Adopting a kitten as your very first cat can be a lot at once and Lani has been with us every step of the way, answering every stupid question we had at all hours of the day.

We found the adoption process very smooth. We saw our kitty cat on the website, put in an application and met him and Lani within a few days. After we took him home, Lani coordinated getting his shots and neuter surgery set up - which was included in the adoption fee. We live around UBC but Forever Homes was worth the drives.

She is very experienced with cats and is a well of knowledge but most importantly - you can tell her heart and soul is in it. We highly recommend Forever Homes and would 100% adopt from then again.
